Animation and technology are intertwined in the way they are because of animation's reliance on technology. The better our technology the easier it becomes to animate. However, do not mistaken the process becoming easier as the art becoming better. Technology is capable of making wonderful animations, but only in the hands of the sledded. Otherwise, the final products may not be as grand as it could have been. But the development of better animating technique that resulted in better animations overall.
New Technology innovations have it possible for animation to become a more widely dispersed medium. Although its quality could be debated, the actual art and movement fare much better when compared to some older pieces of animation. While the core of animation is mostly the same, there are some animating processes that is no longer require a person to do so, which saves time better spent improving another area.
Agreed. Current animation is a fine dance between the programmers and script writers and the artists, designers and animators. And now anyone with a computer, some software and some ambition can create animation. Of course it is those with talent that create art in their animation!
